Crew
The trust will employ permanent (professional) crew for each vessel, which will consist of a Master (Captain), 1st, 2nd, and 3rd officers, chief engineer, mechanic/electrician, bosun and cook. In addition to this permanent crew there will be four volunteers (watch leaders).
Students
It will be preferred that all students have done a similar sailing trip before. Many countries run sailing programs for schools pupils. They come in different shapes and forms but all have a similar purpose: to teach young people sailing and survival skills, and team work.
Research
It is our policy to give access to our vessels to those who are interested in scientific research in the area of the environment.

Research Partners
Each vessel will specialise in a certain subject. Each vessel will have a university as a research mentor (four tutors).
